Atiku, Ganduje, Others Meet Makinde Over Shasha Crisis [Photos]

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday played host to four of his counterparts from the north at the Agodi Government House, Ibadan.

Naija News reports that the northern governors include: Atiku Abubakar Bagudu (Kebbi); Abdullahi Ganduje (Kano); Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Bello Matawalle (Zamfara).

Makinde received them at the Agodi Government House around 7 pm alongside top government functionaries.They were led into a closed door meeting, which lasted about an hour with Governor Makinde.

The Governors, who later came out to take a group photograph after the meeting, promised to address newsmen on Tuesday.

Others present at the meeting were Special Adviser to Makinde on Security Fatai Owoseni; Special Assistant to the Governor on Community Relations (Arewa Community), Alhaji Ahmad Murtala; Serikis representing Hausa communities among other stakeholders.

It was gathered that the Governors visited Oyo State following the recent clash between northerners and Yorubas at the Shasha market in Akinyele local government area of the state.

It was gathered the Governors will tour the Shasha area to make an on-the-spot assessment of the market on Tuesday and also meet with various stakeholders from ethnic groups in the crisis with a view to arriving at amicable resolutions of the crisis.
