Abuja, July 10, 2026
The National Coordinator of the Progressive Youths for Greater Nigeria (PYGN), Hon. Adeniyi Awojobi, has commended security agencies and the Tinubu-led administration for the successful rescue of pupils, teachers and other victims abducted during the attack on Ahoro-Esiele Community Schools in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.
Awojobi, in a statement issued on Friday, described the rescue operation as a testament to the commitment, courage and resilience of the nation’s security agencies in protecting lives and restoring hope to affected communities.
He also praised the administration of His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for its collaboration with security authorities and sustained efforts that culminated in the safe rescue of the victims.
According to him, the development has brought immense relief to families of the victims, residents of the affected community and Nigerians who had anxiously awaited positive news since the unfortunate incident.
The PYGN National Coordinator urged security agencies to sustain ongoing operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks responsible for kidnapping and attacks on schools, stressing that the safety of children and educational institutions must remain a national priority.
He also called on governments at all levels to strengthen intelligence gathering, improve security around schools and enhance community-based policing to prevent similar incidents.
It would be recalled that armed attackers invaded Ahoro-Esiele Community Schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State in May 2026, abducting pupils and teachers, an incident that drew widespread condemnation and renewed concerns over the security of schools across the country.
