Women in Corporate Consulting Africa has trained about 105 young Nigerians (35 beneficiaries each in 3 different training centres) in its first cohort of the Next-Gen Consult Project programme, equipping participants with practical skills to pursue careers in the consulting industry.
The intensive training, took place in Abuja Nigeria, in late July, 2026, focused on General Consulting, Business Advisory and Strategy, Proposal Writing and Pitching, Communication and Presentation Skills, Data Analysis and Problem Solving, as well as Consulting Ethics and Client Management.
The programme targeted young women aged 25 to 35 and was designed to provide participants with practical knowledge applicable to the public, private and nonprofit sectors.
Participants were exposed to strategic thinking, market research, feasibility analysis, proposal development, professional communication, data interpretation and problem-solving techniques. The training also emphasised ethical practice, confidentiality, client relationship management and professionalism in consulting engagements.
The beneficiaries were selected through an application process that involved the submission of curriculum vitae and subsequent interviews. Those who successfully completed the programme received certificates.
The training was facilitated by professionals with experience in management consulting, commercial law, monitoring and evaluation, transaction advisory and administration. The Facilitators were;

According to the organisers, the Next-Gen Consult Project aims to train about 10 million young women as consultants over the next five years across Africa, with a focus on developing young professionals and expanding access to consulting skills.
The organisers said the initiative was also intended to create opportunities for young women to contribute their expertise to businesses, organisations and community development.
As the programme expands, young women and organisations interested in supporting professional development are encouraged to support the initiative and help create opportunities for more beneficiaries to access subsequent cohorts.
The organisers said the next phase would provide more young women with the opportunity to acquire practical consulting skills, build professional networks and position themselves for opportunities within the industry.
The Organization is also calling on interested partners, funders, volunteers, gender and youth developers, to help push the Next-Gen Consult Project initiative to actualization and fulfillment
