The Muhammadu Buhari-led federal government has reportedly declared a former Navy Commodore, Kunle Olawunmi, wanted over his controversial interview on Channels Television.

Embattled suspended former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), DCP Abba Kyari, has been recommended for demotion.

How Gov Matawalle Wants To Fight Bandits With Petrol, Markets In Zamfara

Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle has initiated new set of measures targeted at tackling the growing activities of bandits in the state.

Naija News reports that prominent among these measures is the restriction of fuel sales to the state capital and the headquarters of the local government areas of the state.

He made the announcement via a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment, Media and Communications, Zailani Bappa.

Embattled National Chairman of the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, has complied with the court order to stay off the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the opposition party.

Naija News recalls that a Cross River Court in Calabar had restrained Secondus from presiding over the NEC meeting of the party.

Justice Edem Kufre gave the order based an application brought by a member of the party, Enang Wani.

Stop Protecting Bandits, Boko Haram Insurgents – Ortom Fires Presidency Again

Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has asked the presidency to stop shielding bandit terrorists and Boko Haram insurgents terrorising the country.

Naija News reported that the governor had labelled Buhari as the worst President to ever rule Nigeria, adding that the Nigerian leader is grossly incapable of managing the affairs of the country.

Reacting, the Presidency described Ortom as a very unprincipled man who is only motivated by the lust for personal gains.

But in an interview with BBC Pidgin on Saturday, the Benue governor asked the Muhammadu Buhari-led government to flush out bandits and Boko Haram members with immediate effect.

The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, has been restrained by a Cross River High Court from resuming his office.

Naija News reports that Secondus was barred from presiding over any meeting of the party by Justice Edem Kooffreh, on Friday..

While ruling on a motion ex parte marked HC/240/2021, Justice Kooffreh granted an interim order barring Secondus from resuming office as the PDP national chairman until the motion is heard.

Bandits: Buhari’s Shoot-On-Sight Order Not Meant For IPOB – Garba Shehu

The presidency has stated that the shoot-on-sight order issued by President Muhammadu Buhari was not meant for the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

Buhari’s Media Assistant, Garba Shehu, stated this while speaking on BBC Pidgin on Saturday, Naija News reports.

The presidential spokesperson was responding to why the Buhari’s administration has failed to outlaw bandits just like IPOB.

Shehu stated that the administration of President Buhari only proscribed the Nnamdi Kanu-led group.

FG Fixes New Date For DisCos To Increase Electricity Tariff

The Federal Government has asked Nigeria’s 11 Electricity Distribution Companies (DisCos) to increase tariff from the 1st of September 2021.

The directive was given in a letter by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) titled “Tariff Increase Notification.”

According to the document titled:”023/EKEDP/GMCLR/0025/2021, dated 25th August 2021, and seen by The Nation, NERC gave DisCos the leverage to charge a service-based tariff.

A former Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki has rubbished reports that he has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The Kebbi-born politician while denying such reports said those behind the initial rumours are simply been mischievous.

Turaki who submitted that he has no plans to dump the PDP now or any time in the future, noted that he is working with other party leaders to reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general elections in the country.

The presidency while responding to allegations that President Muhammadu Buhari was named as their negotiator by Boko Haram terrorists has described Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom as a liar.

The President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu who made the submission on Saturday, was responding to an allegation that Buhari is treating the insurgents with kid gloves.

It will be recalled that Governor Ortom had stated that during President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure, the Boko Haram terrorists had named Buhari as their negotiator when the government wanted to enter into negotiations with them
