MAMA 2021: MTV Base Postpones Award Indefinitely

The MTV Africa Music Awards event earlier scheduled for February 2021 has been postponed till further notice.

Naija News understands that the postponement was as a result of the current increase in the cases COVID-19 disease.

The organizers of the award, MTV Base revealed in a statement delivered to newsmen through e-mail that the event earlier scheduled to hold in Kampala, Uganda this month has been postponed indefinately.

The statement reads: “After careful consideration, MTV Base is concerned that the current health and safety challenges will significantly jeopardize the ability of the campaign to continue to achieve its objectives.

“MTV Base will keep fans posted. The 2021 MAMA Kampala is a virtual event. Strict adherence to health and safety protocols as specified by WHO have been adhered to throughout the production process.”

Meanwhile, popular Nigerian hip-hop singer and songwriter, David Adeleke, better known as Davido will be performing live at the birthday ceremony of Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of INRI Evangelical spiritual church.
The renowned prophet disclosed during a chat with newsmen that he had spoken with the singer to come and perform at his church, Naija News reports.
