YOUTHS DECRY UNLAWFUL ARREST OF ENUGU LEADERS BY EFCC, DEMANDS REMEDIES FROM BAWA

The leadership of Coalition of Nigerian Youth On Security And Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) has frowned against the activities of the Operatives of the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), at Castle Majestic Hotel in Enugu, Where they stormed the Venue of the Leadership of National Youth Council (NYC) Stakeholder’s meeting and arrested people at the venue unlawfully.

This was made public by Comr. Ade Mario Emmanuel in a Press Text, wherein he said that some leaders of the Youth Council were arrested, alongside some Youths within the Hotel premises and whisked away, on following grounds;
“A. The National Coordinator under the leadership of Amb. Ade Mario is calling on the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim BAWA to release those arrested at the premises within 24hours.

B. More importantly, We demand for the Repair, Replacement of all the broken, lost Gadgets, Properties belonging to Guests of Castle Majestic Hotel, Enugu during the EFCC ‘unlawful raid’ on 16/09/2021.

C. Emergency meeting is sort with the Chairman of the EFCC, by the leadership of CONYSSA.

D. We hereby request the Chairman of the EFCC should as a matter of urgency respond to the letter being forwarded to his office this month, and by conveying an emergency meeting with the Youth leadership in the Country on the issue of “Cybercrime, Problems and Solutions”, while every sectors would be carried along effectively.

The Convention went well when men of the EFCC invaded the Location of the Meeting around 10pm, brutalizing and whisked away every young person at sight, into five(5) buses which they came with. It was obviously an uncalculated wild chase of internet fraudster perpetrators, without security intelligence. In the process, some Youth Stakeholders were also harassed and whisked away.
