Nominations have been completed across Nigeria, and stage set to unveil Members of the Year 2021 Nigerian Youth Leaders Electoral College (NYLEC), to vote between Gen. Yakubu Gowon and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, to determine the ultimate Winner of the Pillar of Peace and Unity in Nigeria Honour for Year 2021
It would be recalled that a Public Poll was conducted from February 26 to April 26, 2021 with four National Fathers and Statesmen, that have contributed remarkable to promotion of Peace and Unity in Nigeria, shortlisted for Voting to produce the highest Two personality for 2021 Finals.
The Four names were Gen. Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Olusegun Obasanjo, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. Out of the Four, Gen. Gowon and President Jonathan emerged the topmost Two in a very keenly contested Poll with very slim margins.
The Two finalists shall be subjected to NYLEC to vote the Best for Year 2021 PILLAR OF PEACE & UNITY IN NIGERIA. The List of Members of NYLEC 2021 shall be released Saturday, MAY 29, 2021, while an Online Inauguration of the College will take place at the Youth House Platform same day By 2100HR GMT
The List consists of Three (3) renowned and trusted serving Youth Leaders from each of the 6 Geopolitical Zones of Nigeria, making Eighteen, and One Female to serve as Returning Officer, making a total of nineteen Youth Leaders.
The Voting shall be conducted Online via ZOOM in a very credible and transparent manner. Members of NYLEC shall take time to study the activities and contributions of the Two Personalities towards Unity and Peace Building in Nigeria, and cast their Votes independently, based on personal convictions. It shall be an Open Secret Ballot System of Voting, which shall be conducted on June 12, 2021 to mark this year’s Democracy Day in Nigeria.
The Final Winner shall be announced same day, but Honoured and Decorated by First Week of October 2021 as part of the Nigerian Youth Celebration of the 61st Independence Anniversary in Nigeria.
The Organisers, which is the One Nation Forever Project Team promises that the Year 2021 Events shall be glamorous and will far exceed that of Year 2020 which was won by Gen. Abdulsalami ABUBAKAR rtd.
