Nigeria is experiencing an outbreak of a nationwide Jubilation resulting from the News of another legendary and historic feat by the Ninth Senate with the passage of the Bill seeking Establishment of the Nigerian Peace Corps (NPC), during today’s sitting.
At the breaking of the News, the youtHouse reporters gathered that Youths were seen in groups of hundreds and thousands jubilating across States and Local Government Areas of the Country, hailing Senators of the Ninth National Assembly. Their expressions of joy knew no bond as they exhibited rekindled hope towards gainful employment
When interviewed some of the Youth Leaders stressed that passage and signing into Law of the Nigerian Peace Corps Act remains the surest strategy to reducing Unemployment in Nigeria, while effectively engaging the Youth in intelligence gathering and curbing Insecurity remarkably.
The Youth Leaders hailed the Senators, calling them Heroes of the Masses that deserve full support of the Nigerian People in furtherance of their political ambitions, promising to reciprocate this kind gesture by rewarding them in the 2023 General Elections irrespective of Political Party divides. They unanimously called on the Honourable Members of the Federal House of Representatives to follow suit by accelerating actions on passage at the Bill at the Green Chambers.
In a swift Press Briefing in response to the development, the Founder and National Commandant of the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Prof. Dickson A.O. Akoh expressed his profound gratitude to the leadership and entire Members of the Red Chambers, especially Distinguished Sen. Ali Ndume who is the Sponsor of the Bill. He continued that the development has rekindled the hopes of over 180, 000 Members of the Corps. Prof. Akoh asserted that the final signing of the Bill into Law would be of immense benefit to the Nation Security wise and Economically.
He further stated that the mandate of the Nigerian Peace Corps will in no way conflict with that of existing Security structures, as the new Establishment will be primarily focused on Educational Institutions, Tourism Industry, Neighborhood Watch and the likes, hence, freeing the conventional Security Aparatus to concentrate on the overwhelming Challenges before the Nation
He went on to inform that all the earlier conflicting portions of the Bill that President Buhari showed reservations over had been removed, and Nigeria is now clearly out of Recession, which was one of the reasons given by the President for withholding assent at the previous passage by the 8th National Assembly. He, therefore, expressed confidence that the Bill will be signed into Law this time around
