Former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has called out people interrupting efforts by residents in some part of the Northern Region in the fight against banditry.
The former lawmaker in a post on his verified Twitter account on Monday, February 8, lamented over the spate of insecurity in the North, most especially in the rural north-west.
According to him, some times it takes days to find corpses of those killed by the bandits who go about on motorcycles to set villages on fire, rape and kill innocent citizens.
Sani’s tweet reads: “Bandits have ravaged and pillaged most parts of the rural north-west. They move on motorcycles, raze villages, kill and rape with impunity. It takes some days to find some of the corpses of their victims. If you can’t protect your land don’t interrupt those who decide to.”

Meanwhile, Fulani herdsmen from South West, South East and other parts of Nigeria have reportedly indicated interest to relocate to the Northern part of Nigeria.
Zubairu Ibrahim, leader of Fulani herdsmen and Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, MACBAN, in Kano State, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, February 8, Naija News reports.
Ibrahim revealed that the headers would be relocating to Kano to continue their pastoral business at the state RUGA settlement. He listed locations of the herdsmen as Nasarawa, Niger, Enugu, Oyo, among others.
