The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday evening, 29th January 2021, confirmed 1,114 new cases of Coronavirus disease infection in Nigeria.
The new cases of COVID-19 infection were confirmed via a statement on the official Twitter handle of the health agency.
This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 128,674 which includes 102,780 discharged cases and 1,577 deaths.
Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Abuja, the federal capital territory (FCT).

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has directed market authorities to carry out temperature checks before buyers and sellers transact businesses at the various markets in the country.
Naija News reports that this was made known by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 National Incident Manager, Mukhtar Muhammed, stated this on Friday while featuring on Channels Television.
He stated market leaders must make sure buyers and sellers make use of face masks, social distancing and washing of hands at market places.
According to the incident commander, market authorities should ensure that all measures are put in place and people that are not complying are quickly refuted or taken out of the market place.
