President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday, February 1 consented to the construction of Federal Polytechnic, Shendam in Plateau State.

The development was confirmed in a Twitter post a few hours ago by Bashir Ahmad, the President’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Naija News reports.

The President is said to have also approved the sum of N2 billion from the funding resources of TETFund for immediate commencement of the project.

The tweet reads: “President @MBuhari has approved the establishment of Federal Polytechnic, Shendam, Plateau State, with an approval of N2 billion from the funding resources of TETFund for the immediate take-off, the Ministry of Education confirmed in a letter to Gov Simon Lalong of Plateau State.”

Meanwhile, the Federal Government has classified Kogi State “high risk” for COVID-19 because of its failure to report tests or build COVID-19 isolation centres.
Naija News reports that the presidential task force (PTF) on COVID-19, disclosed classification on Monday.
