Gunmen suspected to be bandits have abducted over fifty people along the Tegina-Minna road in Rafi Local Government of Niger State.

It was reported that the victims were abducted when three passenger vehicles ran into the roadblock at Kundu set up by the bandits.

The bandits abducted the passengers in the three cars and also kidnapped and conveyed them to an unknown location, while the vehicles were left by the roadside.

In a related development, armed bandits invaded Gidigoro town in Rafi council and abducted some villagers, burnt five cars and went away with valuables.

Also an attack on Manta town, Shiroro local government led to the death of one person, while many others were abducted.

The bandits gathered, also ransacked the houses of the villagers and stole their foodstuff and other valuables.

This is coming a few days after bandits released the abducted Kagara schoolboys.
