Bandits Abduct 70 Nursing Mothers, Others In Zamfara Community

Suspected bandits on Wednesday attacked Ruwan Tofa village in the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State and abducted over 70 people, including nursing mothers and children.

According to SaharaReporters, the armed men invaded the community on motorcycles on Wednesday, shooting sporadically.

A source that spoke on the incident noted that the bandits abducted at least 70 persons and carted away valuables, including foodstuffs and animals.

Houses and vehicles belonging to villagers were also destroyed and burnt.

“The attack lasted for several hours, the gunmen took at least 70 persons into the forest,” the source said.

This is coming a few days after gunmen suspected to be bandits abducted three students from Gobirawa village of Safana Local Government Area of Katsina State.

Confirming the incident to DailyTrust, a resident of Gobirawa said the students were abducted after closing from the Community Day Secondary School.
