Coronavirus: NCDC Reports 1,056 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Nigeria

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has reported 1,056 (one thousand fifty-six) new cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

Naija News reports that the new cases were reported in a post on the disease control agency’s Twitter handle on Tuesday night, February 9, 2021.

The newly reported cases bring the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria to 141,447 which includes 115,755 discharged cases and 1,694 deaths.

Below is the breakdown of the latest cases according to states with Lagos State having the highest number of cases followed by Osun State.

The cases were recorded as follows: Lagos-214 Osun-120 FCT-116 Plateau-88 Ebonyi-75 Kwara-73 Gombe-70 Ondo-57 Rivers-47 Akwa Ibom-38 Edo-25 Oyo-23 Kano-22 Delta-19 Katsina-18 Borno-16 Nasarawa-13 Ekiti-8 Ogun-8 Bauchi-4 Benue-1 Jigawa-1

Meanwhile, BUA Group has tackled the Coalition Against COVID-19, (CACOVID) for rejecting the company’s donation of one million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine to Nigeria.

BUA on Tuesday alleged that it is aware that some members of CACOVID were not happy the organization took the initiative before them but warned that politics should not be played with the life and health of Nigerians, Naija News reports.
