2023: We Are Going Into Warfare – PDP Governors

The governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, have appealed to the party faithful to set aside their political differences and unite in order to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2023.

The Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, Aminu Tambuwal, spoke at the National Executive Committee meeting of the party, in Abuja, on Saturday.

While noting that the leadership crisis in the party will make it better prepared for the next general elections, the PDP governors described the 2023 polls as an impending political warfare.

Tambuwal said: “Challenges, disputation, disagreement are a part of life and indeed politics. But what is important is how they are resolved,”

The challenges are quite many and it is important for us to continue to work together as a family. We are going into a warfare. You must go into a warfare united; you cannot win divided.

“The road is bumpy, but by the grace of God, we are sailing to our destination. God willing, PDP will take over Nigeria. So let’s not lose hope. We must remain focused with our eyes on the ball and we shall, by the grace of God, score that goal.”

The Sokoto governor also reiterated that the PDP hierarchy had activated all its dispute resolution mechanisms to check the crisis rocking the party, saying: “We shall continue to hold together, remain together, because we are the hope of the people of Nigeria and Nigerians are looking forward to PDP, and we cannot afford to fail them.”
