Victor Osimhen Agrees To Leave Napoli For Galatasaray, See Details Of Loan Deal

Super Eagles of Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has agreed to leave Napoli for Turkish club, Galatasaray on a season-long loan deal.

Victor Osimhen and Galatasaray reached an agreement on personal terms hours after the Turkish side got approval from Napoli to execute the loan deal.

The transfer is a lifeline for Osimhen after a failed move to Chelsea, as the Turkish transfer window closes on September 13.

According to reports, Galatasaray are expected to cover Osimhen’s full annual salary of nearly €11 million, which means that the Turkish side won’t pay Napoli for the “dry loan” deal.

Initially, there was talk over the possibility of the Turkish club paying a fee for the loan and sharing the player’s wages but reports claimed the parties settled for Galatasaray covering Osimhen’s full annual salary.

Reports also claimed that both clubs have agreed that Osimhen’s release clause of €130 million might be triggered by potential suitors starting from January 2025.

Although Osimhen had initially hoped for a move to the English Premier League, he couldn’t reach an agreement with Chelsea due to wage demands. Another potential move to Al-Ahli also did not materialize, leaving Osimhen in a difficult position.

Despite his preference for a Champions League team, Osimhen will join Galatasaray and compete in the Europa League, where the club is set to face Tottenham Hotspur and Ajax in the league phase of the competition.
