Three men suspected to have played parts in the killing of a pastor of Deeper Life Bible Church, Mr Alimi Victor, have been arrested in Kogi State.
The State Command of the Nigeria Police Force confirmed this in a statement released on Saturday, Naija News reports.
The late clergyman according to reports, was gruesomely murdered on 10th March by some criminals over an undisclosed issue.
The deceased had closed late from a church service at Okaito area, along Kabba-Okene last week and was returning to his home at Ohoiokpe area, in the Okehi Local Government Area of the state in the night when he was attacked by the assailants.
Reports gathered that the cleric’s death may not be unconnected with issues arising from a grant that he allegedly got himself involved, in and which the handlers are yet to disburse to the beneficiaries.
Confirming the arrest of the suspects, the Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), ASP William Aya said the body of the deceased was recovered from a pit along the route of his church, a few days after he was declared missing.
Aya said the three suspects arrested are already undergoing interrogation at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the command in an attempt to uncover the reasons behind their dastardly act, Naija News reports.
The police mouthpiece added that the command had been on the trail of the hoodlums and that intelligence gathering led the operatives to arrest the three suspects in their hideout in the area.
Aya, however, said the command would not disclose the identity of the three suspects, as the police were still on trail of more culprits.
