Tears As Young Corps Member Dies In Kaduna

Nelson Anaku,  a member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has reportedly died during surgery in Kaduna State, Naija News reports.

According to reports, Nelson died at 44 Army Reference Hospital on Wednesday morning, March 30, after undergoing surgery for undisclosed ailment.

A Statement posted on Kaduna NYSC Facebook page, described late Nelson as a patriotic, selfless and active corps member. It read; “It is with a heavy heart that we announce the demise of corps member Nelson Anaku with state code number KD/22A/2614.

“Nelson passed on while serving his fatherland. He died at 44 Army Reference Hospital while recuperating after a surgery.

“Mr Nelson was a patriotic, selfless and active corps member who exhibited the spirit of teamwork.

“The NYSC management, staff and corps members mourn Mr Nelson and condole with his family.May his gentle soul Rest In Peace. Amen.”

Meanwhile, unknown gunmen have reportedly whisked away the traditional ruler of Bukpe community in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), His Royal Highness (HRH) Alhaji Hassan Shamidozhi.

Reports made available to newsmen on Thursday morning revealed that the monarch was abducted at gunpoint while taking some fresh air at the front of his palace.

Confirming the incident to Daily Trust, the monarch’s brother, Malam Jibrin D. Gimba, said the unknown gunmen invaded the area around 9:32 pm on Wednesday.

I just walked into my house after he his palace when he said he wanted to take some shower after which he will come out rest in front of his palace to take some fresh air {sic}” said Gimba who is the Chief Imam of the Community’s Central Mosque.

He added: “Some few minutes later, I started hearing gunshots… I watched through my window and discovered that the kidnappers had whisked him away.
