Renowned Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has appointed Olayomi Koiki as his new spokesman.
In a new video released on Tuesday, Sunday Igboho said he will no longer grant interviews, stating that Koiki would be his mouthpiece going forward.
He added that any news that comes from Koiki is authentic, urging all journalists and media houses to direct their questions to his new media aide.
He said: “I have been seeing fake news flying here and there, some said I’m not scared of civil war, any news that you see henceforth that is not from Koiki don’t believe it.
“Anything Koiki says about me is true because we sleep and wake up together everyday.”
The activist also denied media reports that he called for civil war, saying that his struggle is not about war but the criminal activities of Fulani herdsmen in the South West.
He said: “This fight is not about civil war, it is about the killer herdsmen who are killing our people.”
In a related development, Igboho also disclosed that the Federal Government has frozen his bank accounts.
Igboho while speaking with Vanguard noted that the Nigeria Government froze all his bank accounts because some people were collecting donations.
He, however, stated that he does not know about the donations and warned the Federal Government to unfreeze his accounts to avoid nationwide protest by youths across the South-West region.
His words: “They have frozen my bank accounts because I am fighting a just course. I know Yoruba people are behind me.”
“I will not relent. I must achieve my aims by putting an end to criminalities in Yorubaland.”
“If they refuse to release my accounts, there will be serious protests across the South-West.”
“Yes, the Yoruba are living in fear. They are afraid that the killer-herdsmen might attack them.”
