
Vice President Kashim Shettima and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, are among guests attending the Delta State Economic and Investment Summit.
The event, holding in Asaba, has attracted both foreign and domestic investors from across different sectors, including delegations from Brazil and China, business figures, and development partners.
With the theme “Harnessing Our Strengths, Unlocking Our Potentials”, the Summit focuses on sectors such as the state’s special economic zone, blue economy and transport infrastructure, digital economy and innovation, agricultural potential, solid minerals and mining as well as energy ecosystem.
The Delta State government led by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori believes the Economic and Investment Summit is a strategic platform to deepen investor confidence and form partnerships.

Pan-Africanist, Professor Patrick Lumumba, is the guest speaker at the event, with other attendees including government leaders.
Delta State highlights include a 2024 GDP of about ₦16.97 trillion, which is among Nigeria’s top and a strong non-oil contribution.
