Nigerians have reacted to the arrest of a former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Nsima Ekere.
Naija News earlier reported that Ekere was arrested by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Wednesday over corruption allegations running into about N47 billion.
Ekere, who was the Managing Director of the NDDC between 2016 and 2018, is accused of complicities involving contracts awarded to some NDCC contractors between 2017 and 2019.
The former NDDC boss was the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Akwa Ibom State during the 2019 general election.
Ekere’s arrest was confirmed by the EFCC spokesperson, Wilson Uwajaren.
However, some Nigerians have slammed the Muhammadu Buhari for condoning alleged corrupt minds such as the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idirs and former NDDC boss, Nsima Ekere.
