The comment made by the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, about her husband at the Interdenominational Church service marking Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, has sparked reactions online.
Speaking at the church service at the National Christian Centre on Sunday, Mrs Tinubu stated that her husband is not a magician but is committed to amending the issues the nation faces.
Reiterating her husband’s commitment to the nation’s advancement, the First Lady revealed that the president had been in talks with international communities and investors to recalibrate Nigeria’s position on the global stage.
The wife of the president also asserted that the current administration did not create the problems it faces but has inherited them from years past.
She said: “All we inherited are things that had happened many years ago. We are not here to put blame on any administration but to fix what has been damaged.
“My husband is not a magician; he is going to work, and I believe and hope that we will have peace in this country; the best is yet to come to us.”
However, some netizens, who took to social media, knocked the wife of the president for the statement, saying that the president had asked Nigerians not to pity him.
