The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has sworn in new chairmen and members of two key commissions, charging them to work with dedication to improve the lives of Edo residents.
At the ceremony held at Government House, Benin, the governor inaugurated Terry Igiebor as Chairman of the Ecological Funding and Management Commission, with Prof. David Osifo as a member.
He also swore in Dr. Shittu Shaibu as Chairman of the Edo State Electricity Regulatory Commission. Other members inaugurated are Mr. Thomas Inegbedion, Abdulrask Abubakar, Alex Oniawu and Patrick Iluobe.
Okpebholo said the appointments came with “enormous responsibilities,” noting that the task ahead, especially in the electricity sector, would be difficult but achievable through teamwork.
“The task before you is enormous, it is going to be difficult, but with your determination, we can achieve whatever we want to achieve,” he said.
He urged the new appointees to focus on good policies that will attract investors, adding that several stakeholders have indicated interest in investing in Edo’s power sector.
Responding on behalf of the Ecological Commission, Igiebor described the appointment as a “rare privilege” and pledged to ensure the success of the governor’s Shine Agenda.
