Obiano: Shehu Sani Begs Anambra Women Not To Stage Naked Protest Against EFCC

Shehu Sani Reveals Question Obasanjo Asked Him When He Was Sentenced By A Military Tribunal

Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the threat by some women to protest at the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja.

As earlier reported by Naija News, some women in Anambra state under the aegis of Anambra-North Women Empowerment Movement (AWEM) have vowed to stage a naked protest at the EFCC headquarters if the immediate past governor of the state, Willie Obiano, is not released.

The Chairperson of AWEM, Uju Ifunanya Edochie, in a statement released on Monday expressed her dissatisfaction with the leaked tape of Obiano in EFCC custody, maintaining that the facility is not safe for the former governor.

The group threatened to invade the EFCC headquarters in Abuja naked if Obiano is not released immediately or taken to court.

But reacting, Sani on his Twitter account begged the women to refrain from their threats as it is on his daily route and may affect his fast.

Here is what he wrote: “Great Anambra women, please don’t protest naked anywhere around Unity Fountain, it’s my route every day and some of us are fasting.”

Meanwhile, the immediate past Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano has been granted bail by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The development was disclosed by EFCC Chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa while speaking with newsmen on Monday.

Bawa addressed journalists in Abuja on the sideline of the 5th Annual General Assembly (AGA) of the Network of Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIMA).

He, however, stated that Obiano is yet to perfect his bail condition and he is still in the custody of the commission.
