Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted the Taraba State Council Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Peter Jediel.
Confirming Jediel’s abduction to newsmen, his younger brother, Mr Fidelis Jediel, said the NLC chairman was picked in his house in Sunkani, Ardo- Kola LGA of Taraba about 12:55 am.
He stated that the unknown gunmen forced their way into the house and abducted Peter at gunpoint.
Family sources said the suspected kidnappers were yet to established contact with the family as at the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, a Punch reporter, Mr. Okechukwu Nnodim, who was abducted by unknown gunmen at his residence in Arab road area of Kubwa, Abuja, last Wednesday, has been released.
Naija News reports that the gunmen also freed two young men who are neighbours to Nnodim that were also kidnapped.
Speaking to The Sun, Oluchi, Nnodim’s wife, on Saturday night said: “My husband is back home and taking his bath. You can’t talk to him right now. Thank you for your support. We thank God for everything.”
The three men regained freedom at about 11 pm Saturday night after spending three nights in captivity.
