MissWorld2024

Meet Nigeria’s representative, Miss Ada Joy Eme

Ada Agwu Eme is not just a name, but a strong and budding brand. She was born on the 4th of October, 1998 into a large family of 8 children.

Ada’s rise to international pageantry and fame was not instant. Over the years, she has participated in different Nigerian pageants with amazing results to show for her hardwork, commitment, and consistency. A few of which include:

  1. 2016 Miss Enyimba International Pageant – WINNER
  2. 2018 Face of Abia Pageant (under the Abia State Ministry of Youth Development) – WINNER
  3. 2019 The Nigeria Queen Pageant – 2ND RUNNER UP
  4. 2022 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant – WINNER.

Worthy of note is that before winning the 2022 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Pageant which qualified her to represent Nigeria at the Miss World Pageant, Ada had auditioned for MBGN on previous occasions but did not make the judges’ cut. She was not deterred by the few “NO”s she got along the way, she neither gave up nor cave in. Instead she stayed true to her vision and goal till she got a foot in the door – a true story of strength, character, will, and determination.

Ada Agwu Eme is passionate about children and empowering them through education (formal and informal). Her vision and resolve to give every child a solid headstart in life through access to free and subsidized education gave birth to “ADA GOES TO SCHOOL Initiative” with Ada awarding tuition-free scholarships to 100 children from her community of Abiriba in Abia State.

Over the years, this initiative has metamorphosed into so much more than just scholarship funds as Ada is resolute to not only fund dreams, but to also fight every barrier against children getting access to education.

  1. Pad-A-Girl Outreach: highlighting the impact of period poverty on school girls
  2. Medical Outreach: for the prevention and cure of Schistosomiasis in communities where it is prevalent
  3. Relief Outreach: Ada visited the flood victims in Bayelsa state and donated relief items alongside education materials to school children

Ada Agwu Eme is the Creative Director of THE PENG EVENTS – an event planning company in Lagos, Nigeria; and also a student of Peace and Conflict Resolution at the National Open University of Nigeria.

She continues to contribute her quota in her state by bridging the divide between the government and the youth, and hopes to use her platform on a larger scale to advocate for youth empowerment and inclusion in her country Nigeria.
