Matheus Nunes has completed his move from Wolves to Manchester City after going on strike to ensure the actualization of the transfer deal.
The resigning Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners paid the sum of £53 million to Wolves before they were able to seal the deal.
Naija News gathered that Wolves added a 10% sell-on clause to the deal which means that whenever the 25-year-old Portuguese midfielder leaves City, Wolves will get 10 percent of the deal.
Matheus Nunes, who has made 11 appearances for Portugal’s national team, has signed a five-year contract with City which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2028.
Recall that Wolves rejected City’s earlier bid for Nunes in favor of a price that was more in line with their initial desire of more than £60 million.
Nunes had recently been absent from Wolves’ training sessions after declaring his intention to join coach Pep Guardiola’s squad.
Wolves bought Nunes from Sporting Lisbon last summer on a five-year agreement for a club-record £38 million.
He played a significant role in helping Wolves avoid relegation and end the season in 13th place during the second half of the previous campaign.
