An unidentified man has reportedly attacked health workers in University of Medical Science Teaching Hospital, UNIMED, complex in Akure, Ondo State capital, over high medical bill.
The middle aged man slapped three health workers after nurses on duty gave him his aged mother’s bill.
According to Daily Post the man rained slaps on the health workers for being unable to explain why his bill was so huge.
Reacting to the assault of the workers four security guards beat up the man in return, dragged him out of the female ward and took him to the Accident and Emergency ward.
Some health workers who spoke to the publication said that the man became violent after he received his mother’s bill.
The matter allegedly escalated into a heated argument, prompting the man to hit the health officers.
Meanwhile, in the process of dragging the man out of the ward to an open space in front of the A & E ward, he sustained some minor injuries on his right wrist, while his left eye was also swollen.
