JUST IN: Military Jets Bomb ISWAP Terrorists Collecting Tax In Borno – [Photos]

The Nigerian military on Monday recorded a victory against terrorists of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Borno State.

Reports reaching Naija News at this time confirmed that members of the terrorist group collecting tax from residents of the state were bombed within the Kukawa Local Government Area of the state.

The terror group were said to be moving in groups in the LGA, assaulting residents and imposing taxes on them before the military sighted and engaged them at a roadblock they (the terrorists) had set.

According to PRNigeria, the Air Task Force (ATF) of North-East Operation Hadin Kai conducted airstrikes at Tumbum Kanta and Mangari villages near Baga in Kukawa.

“We couldn’t ascertain the exact figure of the terrorists killed, but they are more than a dozen”, PRNigeria quoted a military source as saying.

Naija News learnt that the troops in another operation neutralized ISWAP members in Marte.

Four soldiers and one Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) member wounded were airlifted to Maiduguri, the state capital.

In another news, some unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits reportedly killed at least four people in Barawa, a community in the Batagarawa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The assailants were said to have raided the community at about 9:00 pm on Sunday, November 21.

Naija News learnt that the gunmen who stormed the town shooting sporadically carted away foodstuffs belonging to residents, sheeps and other valuable items during the raid.

A source who reportedly spoke on the development said nobody was kidnapped during the attack but three men and an elderly woman were killed in the process.

The affected community is said to be barely 10 kilometres from the Katsina metropolis. The source further disclosed that those killed in the attack have since been buried.
