Impeachment Saga: APC NWC In Close-Door Meeting With Ondo Assembly Members

Ganduje, Other Ex-Govs Meet Over Farmers-Herders Crisis In Nigeria

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday, held a closed-door meeting with members of the Ondo State House of Assembly over the impeachment move against the state deputy governor, Lucky Ayiedatiwa.

Naija News gathered that also present at the meeting were members of the Aminu Bello Masari-led 9-man reconciliation committee, and the state party chairman, Ade Adetimehin.

It would be recalled that recently, the Abdullahi Umar Ganduje-led executive, inaugurated the reconciliation committee with the mandate to resolve the impeachment move against the embattled Ondo deputy governor by the state assembly.

The nine-man committee is headed by a former governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari.

The APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje,  who set up the committee last week, had said, “The national secretariat of the party is really concerned about the unfortunate political situation in Ondo State, which, if not quickly averted, may lead to further disaffection among party faithful.

“Therefore, in order to avert the misunderstanding, and after critical observation of the situation, the national secretariat has decided to wade in.

“With a view to foster better understanding that may likely lead to an amicable resolution.”

The Ondo State Assembly had recently moved to impeach the state deputy governor over issues concerning corruption and other allegations.
