A former federal lawmaker, Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Rabiu, has died of the novel Coronavirus-related complications.
Naija News gathered that the popular politician died on Thursday at Kwanar Dawakin Isolation centre, in Kano after he tested positive for the novel virus.
Rabiu, who died at the age of 72, represented Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State in the House of Representatives.
The politician was also a Special Adviser on Economic Matters to the former governor of the state, Ibrahim Shekarau.
According to a member of the family, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the deceased would be buried around 2:00 pm according to Islamic rites.
Tofa told The PUNCH that the deceased is survived by one wife, children, and relations.
