EPL: Arsenal Stats – Wenger Speaks On Returning To Emirates Stadium

Former football manager, Arsene Charles Ernest Wenger, better known as Arsene Wenger, has reacted to Arsenal’s current form in the English Premier League.

Naija News understands that the North London club are currently poor on stats with three matches already played in the 2021/2022 EPL season.

The Mikel Arteta’s side lost their first three matches to Brentford, Chelsea and Manchester City, leaving them in the bottom line of the EPL table.

Wenger who is FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development, however, said the Gunners are “in good shape” despite their miserable start.

Wenger coached Arsenal from 1996 to 2018, where he was the longest-serving and most successful in the club’s history.

The 71-year-old Frenchman expressed hope Arsenal will bounce back from their opening three defeats.

Speaking during an interview with BILD LIVE, Wenger said: “Today the club is in good shape.

“They had two tough games [against Chelsea and Manchester City], the team has potential and I hope they can come back.”

When asked if he would consider returning to the Emirates to help out, the Frenchman replied: “I’m 71. I’ve given this club the best years of my life. At the moment I’m just a fan.”

Naija News understands that after the international break, Arsenal will face Norwich City.

The Gunners are expected to win the match but this demands an extra effort as Norwich are currently in good form.
