The Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigerian (NYCN), Comr. Dan Obo, has just been declared as the National Best Chairman of the Youth Council for the Year 2023 by the Panel of Judges for this Year’s NYCN Best Chairman Award Project.
The Verdict was declared on Thursday night in THE YOUTH HOUSE PLATFORM housing over 670 renowned Serving and Past Youth Leasders and notable Stakeholders from across the Federation and the Diaspora.
The keenly contested Performance Record Assessment Project, which lasted for over one month, first saw Comr. Obo emerging as the BEST STATE CHAIRMAN for the South South Geopolitical Zone, with one Best from the other 5 Zones. The 6 Zonal Best Chairmen were then subjected to an intense one week Public Project Presentation to the 660 Capacity Audience, and later Project Defense before the 7-man Panel of Judges made up of competent and highly celebrated past leaders of the Youth Council
At the end of the tedious assessment process, the Cross River State Chairman, Comr. Dan Obo came first polling 54 Points. He was closely followed by the Niger State Chairman, Comr. Abdullahi Muhammad Ishaq who polled 50 Points, emerging Best Chairman for the entire Northern Nigeria.
The Third Place was clinched by the Ogun State Chairman, Comr. Abdul-Jabar Ayelaagbe who netted 40 Point and was the Best Chairman of South West. The First and Second Runners Up exhibited impressive and uncommon sense of sportsmanship and brotherhood by immediately sending Congratulatory Message to the overall Winner. This show of friendship was admired by all, and they were urged to extend this spirit to the larger Politics of the Country.
3 National Observers to the Process gave Reports of the most credible, Free and Fair Assessment Process ever witnessed within the Youth Constituency of Nigeria.
Cross River State was declared the MOST YOUTH-FRIENDLY STATE OF NIGERIA for Year 2023, and the Governor, His Excellency, Bassey Otu, will be honoured accordingly. The Lead Judge, Comr. Mayor Chinedu Enujeko, a Past President of NYCN said a date will be announced soon for the Formal Presentation Ceremony in Calabar the Cross River State Capital.
