Charly Boy Reacts To Wike’s Purported N300 Million Bulletproof SUV

Veteran Nigerian singer, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has reacted to reports about the multi-million naira LX 600 SUV allegedly purchased by Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.

Naija News reports that Wike’s choice of automobile with the plate number ‘FCT – 01’ for his first day at work on Tuesday got many talking.

A search on the official Lexus website puts the price of this SUV starting from $100,115.

Reacting to this, Charly Boy, via his Twitter page, questioned the rationale behind such an acquisition when the country has over 20 million out-of-school children and N30k as minimum wage.

He tweeted: “A minister is driving a 300 million naira vehicle in a country with over 20 million out of school children, a minister is driving a 300 million naira vehicle in a country where the minimum wage is 30,000 naira. Please folks stop engaging the defenders of this crime against humanity. We shall and must RECOVER the Stolen Mandate to change the NARRATIVE.”

Wike Speaks On Purchasing N300 Million Bulletproof SUV

Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike has distanced himself from the report that he acquired a N300 Million Armoured Lexus LX600.

Wike, while speaking after a tour of the Abuja Light Rail, called on newsmen to confirm if the SUV is bulletproof.

He said, “We are now going to the office to have a direct report from each of the departments, but I have seen what is going on in the social media, how you (FCTA Permanent Secretary) bought a bulletproof car of N300 Million Naira that I am using.

“So I want you people to go hit your hand there (on the car) and see whether it is a treated car. With all due respect, people should be careful not to destroy other people.”
