From Imo State come Breaking News of the official declaration of Engr. Patrick C. Ndubueze, popularly known as the Legacy Senator of South East, as the winner of the APC Primary for the Imo North (Okigwe Zone) Senatorial District ticket.
After the final collation by the Imo North Senatorial District Returning Officer, Rt Hon Amaechi Nwoha, Senator Ndubueze emerged victorious with a wide margin of *108,862* votes against *79* votes scored by former Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.

Earlier on the chances of Sen. Ndubueze to clinch the ticket was boosted by voluntary withdrawal of high profile aspirants which included Chief Longers Anyanwu, Dr (Mrs) Gloria Akobundu and Chief Ike Odoeme, sequel to an accord brokered by critical Stakeholders from the Zone, and anchored by the State Party Chairman, Hon Austin Onyedebulu, with a followed up parley by the State Governor, Sen Hope Uzodinma.
Addressing his supporters after the declaration of his victory, Sen. Ndubueze returned the glory of his emergence to God Almighty, while ascribing his success and margin of victory to the withdrawal of the aspirants whom he described strategic partners in progress that have deployed true sportsmanship..
