President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Mohammed H. Abdullahi as the new Minister of Environment.
Abdullahi’s appointment was confirmed in a statement made available to newsmen on Wednesday (today), Naija News reports.
Confirming the development, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha, said Abdullahi’s appointment is with effect starting from 6th April 2022.
“The President hopes that he would bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment for the growth of the country,” the statement read partly.
Naija News understands that Abdullahi until his appointment, was the Minister of State for Science, Technology and Innovation.
In the same development, Sharon Ikeazor, also a lawyer, politician and management consultant, has been confirmed the Minister of State for Environment.
She was the former executive secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) before her ministerial appointment in August 2019.
