Paris Saint Germain player, Lionel Messi and his title rival, Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United did not make it to this month’s Ballon d’Or power ranking list.
Naija News recalls that Messi had won the individual player award last year ahead of Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski.
However, Ballon d’Or power rankings for the month of April have Lewandowski’s name leading other players in the top seven preferred to win the award this year.
Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema is named behind Lewandowski with Liverpool’s star striker, Mohamed Salah and Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe following.
Naija News understands that Lewandowski has been impressive for both club and country in recent seasons.
The Polish striker scored a goal in his country’s World Cup qualifier 2-0 win over Sweden last Tuesday which set Poland on their way to sealing qualification.
