One of the daughters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Fatima, has revalidated her membership of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Naija News Fatima registered with the ruling party at Ward 1. Unit 08, Jada Local Government Area of the state.

The Chairman of the APC in the state, Mr. Ibrahim Bilal, also confirmed the registration of Atiku’s daughter.

Fatima, a former Health Commissioner in Adamawa State, had earlier said she did not follow Atiku to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The 49-year-old was appointed commissioner in August 2015 under the administration of former Governor Jibrilla Bindow.

Recall that the APC had recently extended the nationwide membership registration and revalidation exercise by three weeks.

A statement by the party’s National Secretary, Senator John J. Akpanudoedehe, said the extension was due to a shortage of materials as a result of the massive turnout of intending members.

Akpanudoedehe said the exercise has been extended to Wednesday 31st March 2021.

He, however, appreciated Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state, the national registration, revalidation committee led by Gov Sani Bello of Niger state, and other stakeholders in making sure the exercise was a success.

The statement read in parts: “The feedback across the states has been overwhelming and beyond projected success level; with a massive turnout of intending registrants beyond the expectation of the party.

“This development is responsible for the shortage of registration materials recorded in many states across the country and thereby warranting an extension of the exercise to give every interested Nigerian the opportunity to officially identify with the ruling party, the APC.”
