APC Has Done Well, Victory Is Assured In 2023 – Masari

Self-defence: You Can't Make Me Resign, Masari Tells CNG

Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari says he is sure Nigerians will again vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) across board during the 2023 general elections.

He made the assertion on Wednesday night when he received the mid-term report of last Saturday’s local government congress of the party from the representative of the National Working Committee headed by Aliyu Kumo at the Government House, Katsina.

According to Masari, the massive registration by Nigerians during the membership registration exercise of the APC shows the party enjoys massive support from the voting population.

He said the success of the membership registration and validation exercise is sure to translate to electoral votes for the party, adding that the APC has delivered dividends of democracy to the people at all levels.

In his view, if only 70% of those who registered during the exercise vote for the party at the polls, it is sure to guarantee victory for the party.

“APC has done well all over the country. We are going back for state congresses, and finally we cap it with the national convention that will produce elected leaders of the party,” Masari observed.

“So we can say that success is only a short distance from us. We will be there and we will achieve it,” he added.

Masari praised the unity and maturity displayed in the conduct of the exercise, explaining that the ward and local governments congresses held across the 34 councils and 361 political wards of the state is based on the consensus option of the party members.

Meanwhile, the details of the meeting of the Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have emerged.

Recall that the governors held a meeting at Akwa Ibom Governor’s Lodge, Abuja on Wednesday to find a solution to the leadership tussle in the party.

Briefing journalists after the meeting which ended at 10:10pm, the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Sokoto State, Aminu Tambuwal, said the meeting was a success.

He stated that the governors discussed the party’s forthcoming National Convention slated for October 30 in Abuja and the progress made so far in terms of preparation.

Tambuwal added that the forum invited leaders of the party in various other states where it doesn’t have governors to the meeting.

The Sokoto governor said the forum met with the leaders on how to move the party forward, bring all the leaders together, and work towards the best national convention.

He, however, disclosed that the opposition party will unite to rescue Nigeria from the misgovernance of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2023.
