The lawmaker representing Delta North at the National Assembly, Senator Ned Nwoko, has debunked the rumours that he is planning to dump the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Naija News reports that Nwoko clarified this in a statement issued through his Campaign Director-General and former Commissioner, Hon. Leonard Esegbue.
Esegbue described the reports as the work of mischief makers who are threatened by the senator’s rising political profile.
He reassured Nigerians and constituents from Delta North that Senator Nwoko remains firmly committed to the APC, his political agenda, and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“There is no iota of truth in the rumour. Senator Nwoko has no reason to leave the APC. He enjoys a cordial relationship with President Tinubu and stands firmly behind the President’s re-election bid in 2027,” he said.
He noted that the speculation was designed to cause division within the party and distract from its goals ahead of the next general elections.
Esegbue maintained that the senator is fully aligned with the APC’s vision and will continue to pursue his political objectives within the party.
“The rumours are baseless and only serve to create unnecessary tension. Senator Nwoko is fully aligned with the APC’s mission and will continue to pursue his political agenda within the party,” he reiterated.
He also emphasised that any future political declarations by Nwoko would be made under the APC umbrella, not in alliance with any other party.
Senator Nwoko had officially joined the APC on February 5, 2025, after leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that was hailed by many of his supporters as both strategic and timely.
Esegbue urged those behind the speculations to abandon what he termed “politics of distraction” and instead engage in meaningful political discourse.
“Rather than spread falsehoods, let’s focus on building a better Nigeria. Senator Nwoko is not leaving APC today, tomorrow, or any time soon,” he added.
