President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, described politicians in the opposition coalition targeted at unseating him in 2027 as Internally Displaced Politicians.
Naija News reports that President Tinubu made the declaration while speaking during a working visit to Nasarawa State.
The President said the politicians in the coalition should not be given any attention as they are only trying to unseat themselves.
“Just don’t pay them any attention. They are the political IDPs. Don’t give them a home. The hope is here,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Senator who represented Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has stated that the opposition coalition aimed at unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 election is not in genuine public interest.
Naija News reports that major opposition leaders, including former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex-governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, and the Kaduna State counterpart, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, among others, are building a coalition against Tinubu ahead of 2027.
In an interview on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, Sani stated that coalitions are often driven by disgruntled politicians who feel excluded from power.
Sani dismissed claims that ideological differences separate the opposition from the ruling party, saying they are all from the same elite class.
According to him, the opposition uses every opportunity to weaponise the challenges of the masses and present themselves as a better alternative.
