The exchange of gunfire between military officers and armed bandits on Wednesday, led to the death of three soldiers in Kabasa village of Magami District in Gusau local government area of Zamfara State.
A resident who spoke with DailyTrust disclosed that the armed men arrived at the community on motorcycles firing at people.
The source added that apart from the soldiers seven other persons were killed in the incident.
The resident identified as Saminu Usman, said “The whole community was thrown into pandemonium as several other residents trying to escape the attack were injured. Seven people were confirmed dead in the attack.”
The state Governor, Bello Matawalle, in a statement released through the Commissioner of Information, Ibrahim Dosara, noted that he was surprised following the attack on innocent people in Kabasa village of Magami district in Gusau local government area of the state.
Governor Matawalle expressed saddened over the event that led to loss of lives in the village and strongly condemned it.
