The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje is understood to have dropped his 2023 senatorial ambition for peace to reign in the All Progressives Congress (APC) state chapter.
Naija News gathered the Governor will now be supporting Barau Jibrin to continue representing Kano North Senatorial district in the National Assembly.
The development is said to be a result of the meeting between the duo in Abuja over the weekend which was brokered by some party stakeholders.
Before the meeting, both men had picked up the APC senatorial nomination forms and were set to go head to head for the position, but after the meeting, Governor Ganduje agreed to step down for Jibrin.
Confirming the latest development, the Kano APC secretary, Ibrahim Sarina said it is true that Ganduje has dropped his senatorial ambition and will be supporting Jibrin instead.
“It is true. The report is true,” Sarina was quoted by The Cable to have said on phone.
