The presidential campaign poster of the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, have surfaced in Abuja.
Naija News reports that the campaign posters which introduced Emefiele as ‘the charge’ for the 2023 presidency were sighted on major streets in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Also, the posters of the CBN governor have flooded Eagle Square in Abuja, the venue of the National Convention of the APC slated for Saturday.
Although Emefiele has not openly declared his interest in the 2023 presidential race, different groups have been soliciting Nigerians’ support for the CBN governor.
Recall that Emefiele’s supporters, mainly youths, spotted white T-Shirts with the inscription MEFFY 2023 at an occasion held in Lagos to persuade him to join the 2023 presidential race.
The supporters said since Emefiele’s appointment as CBN Governor, he had spent his energy building a resilient financial system that can serve the development needs of the economy.
It added that Emefiele has done well in his capacity as the apex bank governor while ignoring the glaring fact that Nigeria’s economy had dipped to its worst state ever during his tenure.
Meanwhile, former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has alleged that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the CBN Governor are secretly campaigning for the presidency seat ahead of 2023.
The socio-political activist made his claims in a post via his verified Facebook page on Friday.
