Sunday Igboho: FG Fails To File Extradition Charges

What Sunday Igboho Must Do To Get DSS, Police Off His Back - Presidency

President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has refused to file an extradition charge against Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho.

Recall that Igboho was arrested at Cardinal Bernardin International Airport, Cotonou, Republic of Benin, with his wife on their way to Germany on Monday night.

Naija News had earlier reported that a Benin Republic court in Cotonou on Thursday ordered the Yoruba activist to be returned to detention.

The court, however, ordered Igboho’s wife to be released and directed its officials to return the passport and other documents seized from the wife of Yoruba Nation agitator, Ropo.

Igboho is awaiting his fate at the Cour De’appal De Cotonou, Benin Republic, following his arraignment by the authorities of the country for immigration-related offences.

The counsel to the activist, Yomi Aliyu while speaking on the development confirmed that the FG has failed to file charges in court.

Aliyu while speaking with Daily Trust said, “Not only that his wife has been released, but the FGN also refused to file an extradition charge against him. They are begging the Benin Republic to keep him pending the time they will file charges against him. Which serious country will accept that”?
