2023 Presidency: Ex-minister Reveals How PDP Can Defeat APC

A former Transportation Minister, Ebenezer Babatope has revealed how the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can take over power from the All Progressives Congress in the 2023 presidential election.

Speaking ahead of PDP’s May 28 presidential primary election, the party chieftain warned against actions capable of truncating its chances in 2023.

Babatope urged party stakeholders and aspirants to ensure that the presidential primary is fair and credible.

The former minister in a statement handed to newsmen on Thursday said PDP’s primary must be such that would lead to the emergence of the best candidate as the flagbearer.

If we want to defeat the All Progressives Congress (APC) and give Nigerians a better deal in 2023, we should do things the right way from the primary”, he said.

The chieftain reiterated that if the there is a lack of equity, fairness and credibility, “I am afraid, we risk losing in 2023”.

Babatope believes all the aspirants seeking the party’s ticket are experienced politicians with impressive credentials and good leadership records.

Speaking on zoning, Babatope suggested that competence and capacity, not region, should determine the next president.

The former minister said the PDP should not insist on having a standard-bearer from the North or South, Naija News reports.
