Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed a former councilor of Sabon Gida Ward, Zamfara State, Hon Farouq Hassan.
It was gathered that the criminals attacked the politician few minutes after he arrived at his residence on Wednesday night.
The bandits invaded his residence with sophisticated weapons in two vehicles, after trailing the 38-year-old politician.
A family source that spoke on the incident said the gunmen asked the former councilor to turn his back before he was shot twice in the head.
The gunmen did not abduct his family members or neighbours during the attack.
This is coming less than 24 hours after gunmen invaded the house of another former councilor, Babangida Damba, who was shot while his nursing wife and eight-month-old baby boy were kidnapped.
