Wilfred Ndidi Finally Signs New Contract With Leicester City

Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has finally signed a new contract with his long-time club, Leicester City.

Recall that Wilfred Ndidi has been playing for Leicester City since January 3, 2017, after leaving Belgian side, KRC Genk for a transfer fee worth €17.60 million.

Since then, the 27-year-old Nigerian defensive midfielder has played 273 times for Leicester City, scoring 17 goals and providing 17 assists.

Ndidi has helped Leicester City to win one FA Cup, one Community Shield, and one EFL Championship.

After helping the club to regain promotion to the Premier League last season, Ndidi’s contract expired, but the side didn’t include him on the list of released players unlike his countryman, Kelechi Iheanacho.

Then, the club said in a statement that they were negotiating a new deal for Ndidi, which has finally ended positively for both parties amid a series of transfer speculations.

The Nigeria international has signed a new deal with Leicester City which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027.

After signing the new contract, Wilfred Ndidi said: “I feel great, I feel excited, I feel at home.

“That is the most important thing. I feel really happy to continue with the club.

“My family is settled here and when everyone back home says ‘Ndidi’, they say ‘Leicester’ also”.
