Why I Don’t Want To Be In A Serious Relationship – Young Jonn

Nigerian singer Young Jonn has spoken about his approach to relationships, saying he is not ready to commit to one woman at the moment.

The Akwa-Ibom born music star shared his thoughts during an appearance on the ‘Way Up’ podcast hosted by Angela Yee.

Naija News reports that he explained that he currently prefers to keep his relationships at a friendly level rather than move into anything serious.

The 30-year-old Aquafina crooner said he values love but believes he is not in a stage of life where he can dedicate himself fully to a partner.

According to him, starting a serious relationship now would not be fair to anyone, as he would not be able to give the attention and effort that such commitment requires.

He said: “Everybody loves love. I mean, love is wonderful. But, I’m not really in that space where I can give so much of me to one person. So, I’m just keeping it platonic with everybody.

“I don’t want a serious relationship right now. Because I feel like I won’t be able to give that person as much as I’m supposed to. So why put them in that situation?”

His comments come shortly after reports surfaced about the end of his romance with Adenike Adeleke, popularly known as Nikos Living, who is Davido’s cousin.

Their relationship was a subject of public speculation in early 2024 when she posted pictures and updates featuring both of them.

However, by August 2025, signs of a breakup appeared, with the pair unfollowing each other on social media and removing shared photos.
