Toke Makinwa

Popular media personality, Toke Makinwa, has expressed mixed feelings about spending her 20s focusing on a single relationship.

Naija News reports that while speaking on ‘Cocktails and Takeaways’, Toke noted that she does not like her twenties.

She said this while reflecting on her youthful devotion and lessons learned.

Toke Makinwa added that young people have no business getting married in their mid-twenties, but it is essential to figure out their personalities first.

She said, “I don’t think I liked my twenties. I don’t think I knew what I was doing because I was in love with one man in my 20s. I spent my entire 20s following one man.

“If I could turn back the hand of time, I’m grateful that I’m where I am today because my experience has shaped me.

“But I tell young people that you have no business getting married in your early or mid-twenties. Figure yourself out. Know yourself first.”

Toke Makinwa Addresses Marriage Rumors

In related news, Toke Makinwa has put to rest rumours about a secret marriage, using the occasion of her 40th birthday thanksgiving celebration in Lagos to address the reports.

Naija News reports that speculation arose on social media on Sunday night, suggesting that Toke had secretly tied the knot with entertainment mogul Farouk Umar at the Oriental Hotel on Victoria Island.

The rumours gained traction after a viral video surfaced showing the two in intimate moments, with Toke in a white dress and Farouk wearing traditional buba and sokoto attire.

However, Toke swiftly addressed the rumours at her party, clarifying that Farouk is nothing more than a close friend who supported her during tough times.
